Green Fair Alliance
Green Fair Alliance and its member organizations support recycling in Northwestern Illinois as part of their mission. Our support includes information sharing, volunteerism, and financial contributions. Some recycling efforts are connected to the annual Green Fair but we do not limit our support to any single recycling event. Recycling is part of maintaining a sustainable lifestyle.
Please take part in the next recycling event, April 2, 2011, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., held at the University of Illinois Extension’s parking lot in Mt. Carroll.
Materials accepted for recycling and services include:
Electronics of all types.
Used oil and antifreeze.
Batteries (lead-acid, rechargeable, and alkaline).
Latex paint (per gallon fees apply) for recycling, not disposal.
Document shredding.
Household hazardous waste (limited to Jo Daviess and Carroll County residents) – some fees may apply.
Look for updates and details in local newspapers and this website. Contact Maggie Friedenbach, Recycling & Conservation Programs Coordinator, 815-244-9444,mfrieden@illinois.edu.
